Reflection: The Dark Hills Divide

The Dark Hills Divide was an adventurous and interesting book to read. I thought it was interesting because it wasn't like other story books...Of course every book is different but what I meant was that it had a totally different narrative and it wasn't like other stories. Therefore it was even more interesting to read. My favourite characters are Alexa Daley (main character) and Murphy the squirrel. Alexa is an intelligent and loyal girl who doesn't just sit around and waste her time doing nothing. She uses her time wisely to find things to do such as finding a way outside the wall and like me, she loves reading books except for the fact that I cannot read as fast as she can. Murphy was one of my other favourite character. He is a funny and lively little fellow that is always moving about. I really liked it when Patrick Carman, the author, had described Murhpy's actions (such as doing cartwheels on Alexa's lap,) because it makes me smile/laugh. The only little bit where I didn't enjoy this story so much was the ending where Ganesh died. I wish there were more to how he died rather than just Darius making one move to kill him. It would have been a lot more exciting if Ganesh was killed in more and different ways. Overall, I thought this book was special because like I have reflected, it is different to other stories and this story itself had made this book unique. I would rate this book 4.5 out of 5 stars.
